

The US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago as well as the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Trinidad and Tobago have both issued well-wishes to Prime Minister Stuart Young SC on his new appointment.
In a post via X, Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago, Jenifer Neidhart de Ortiz, said she looks forward to continued collboration between the two nations.

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Trinidad and Tobago also issued well-wishes to Trinidad and Tobago's new Prime Minister.
"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Stuart Young, S.C., on being sworn in as the 8th Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
"China is committed to collaborating with Trinidad and Tobago to promote shared development, drive economic advancement, and facilitate cultural exchanges that will be beneficial for both nations and their people. "
CARICOM Chairman and Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali, as well as the European Union delegation in Trinidad and Tobago, also issued well-wishes to Young on his appointment.
Young, who retains his portfolio as Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, was sworn in by President Christine Kangaloo on March 17, 2025 at the President's House in Port of Spain.
Young succeeds Dr Keith Rowley, who resigned on March 16, 2025 after serving as prime minister for two successive terms since 2015.
