

The European Union delegation to Trinidad and Tobago has issued congratulations to newly appointed Prime Minister, Stuart Young SC.
In a statement via social media, the EU also thanked outgoing prime minister Dr Keith Rowley for his service:
"The EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago extends heartfelt congratulations to The Honorable Stuart Young on his new role as Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. We also wish to express our gratitude and best wishes to former Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley for his many years of dedicated service. Here’s to a future filled with collaboration and progress for Trinidad and Tobago!"
Young, who also served as Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, was sworn in by President Christine Kangaloo as Trinidad and Tobago's eighth Prime Minister at the President's House earlier today.
CARICOM Chairman and Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, also issued congratulations, welcoming Young as Trinidad and Tobago's representative within the Caribbean Community.
Mottley said Young will have lead responsibility for matters surrounding Energy and Security (Drugs and Illicit Arms), in the CARICOM Quasi-cabinet.
President of the Republic of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, also issued best wishes to Young on his new appointment.
